MOBILE: Mobile.de is Germany’s most popular car marketplace with 16 million unique visitors per month and more than 1.5 million vehicles listed

CARSALES chief executive Ajay Bhatia has resigned to join global online company Adevinta as CEO of its German car classifieds platform, mobile.de.

He will be replaced by Paul Barlow who is a very experienced senior executive and has been with Carsales for 13 years, the last eight years as Managing Director of International.

Mr Bhatia, who joins mobile.de in Germany from August 1, has nearly 20 years of online classifieds experience in Australia and Asia.

He has extensive experience in the automotive classifieds industry, as well as real estate, employment and general classifieds.

He has also held various leadership positions spanning general management, product, technology, sales and digital marketing.

In 2015, he was named Australian CIO of the Year by CEO Magazine.

He is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and holds an MBA from the University of Technology Sydney. He is also a professor at UTS Business School.
