Drive welcomes six new hires to expanded car dealership in Leicester

Drive Motor Retail has welcomed six new hires to its Leicester car dealership after expanding its MG Motor UK showroom.

Former Bristol Street Motors managing director Paul Bustin now runs the operation on the city’s Freeman Common Road, which also operates a Vauxhall Motors franchise site.

Bustin, who brings 32 years of experience in the automotive trade to the role, said, “My first impressions of Drive are excellent. We have a management team that is very focused on growing the business and the team around me is a success in the making.

Car retail group AM100 Drive reported revenue of £226.3m in its latest published accounts, for a 2020 trading period impacted by COVID, as well as pre-tax profits of £3.36 million pounds.

It currently employs over 700 people in 16 dealerships.

The decision to expand the MG Group’s retail operations in Leicester came as the brand continued to accelerate its growth in the UK, with check-in volumes up 83.04% to 19,695 at the end of May.

AM recently reported that MG had suspended sales of its affordable electric vehicle (EV) models as it struggled to keep up with demand.

Other new additions to Drive’s expanded operations include: Jonathan Davies, Aftersales Manager; Toby Yeomans, Sales Controller; Richard Peacock and Tom Preston, Business Leaders.

Katie Levy was also promoted to Director of MG Sales.
