Rental truck rams parked vehicles at Route 1 car dealership

A person has been taken into custody following a wild accident involving a rental van and multiple vehicles at a car dealership in Saugus, Massachusetts. The crash happened early Friday morning on the north side of Highway 1 near the Auto House. Ali-Raza Najafi, owner of Auto House USA, a used car dealership, said just after 8 a.m. the driver of a U-Haul rammed into several vehicles parked on his property. Najafi said the driver of the stolen U-Haul admitted he was on meth. Police said one of the two people in the van was arrested after trying to flee. The other remains on the run. Inside the truck were bags filled with what police believe to be stolen laptops. The family dealership suspects approximately $150,000 in damage was done to the damaged vehicles.
